Some time ago I was inspired to take a look at the words of the prophet Daniel.

Daniel 7:13-16 (KJV)

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

The Kingdom of God (or “The Kingdom of Heaven”), is something many do not truly understand. Far from being some utopia where literal lions lie down with literal lambs and literally eat grass – neither with which they are physically compatible – the question of everlasting righteousness that does not end is that it must be the righteousness of faith.

Note: The eisegetical assertion that there is a distinction between the “Kingdom of God” and the “Kingdom of heaven”, when exposed to exegetical analysis simply does not hold water. The expression “Kingdom of Heaven” is used exclusively by the gospel writer Matthew.  Matthew also uses the expression “Kingdom of God” five times. He uses the expression “Kingdom of Heaven” to express the same basic ideas for which the other synoptic gospels writers use the expression, “Kingdom of God”. The two phrases are simply interchangeable.

So then, what is the Kingdom of God/heaven?

Romans 14:17 (KJV)

17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Luke 17:20 (KJV)

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

The everlasting righteousness of His Kingdom is the righteousness that will never pass away, as did its predecessor. (See Romans 3:25; 4:5,9,13; 9:30; 10:6; and Gal 5:5). It cannot be controlled by men of this world, cannot be corrupted, cannot be infiltrated by evil.  This is true because it is not of the tangible stuff of this world; it’s a Spiritual Kingdom!

Want everlasting righteousness in your world? Make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life! That’s the kind of dominion that will never end!
