49th Dove Awards Highlights

Just about every category in the entertainment industry has an award show, but I’d say, hardly any compare to the GMA Dove Awards. Since 1969, Gospel Music artists have been honored for their contributions to the Christian music industry. From Contemporary to Southern, Rap to Hip-Hop if the message of Christ can be shared in any form of music it will be. Music in itself isn’t secular, or un-Godly, its the words to the song that define it.

Last night the 49th annual GMA Dove awards aired on TBN after being recorded on October 16. Performances ranged from Tori Kelly to Jason Crabb with Rascal Flatts. An awesome night of Christian singers, musicians, writers and producers to come together, praise God, and have fun.

Some of the highlights of the night included the performances.

In addition to the amazing performances, previews for “I Still Believe” aired on TBN. Me personally, I didn’t care so much for Russ Taff till I heard his music from the 80’s, and now I have a better appreciation for his work. This movie looks to be an amazing testimony. In select theaters, one night only October 30th.

I would say the most powerful song sung on the stage last night was from Lauren Daigel, “You Say”. The album its off of reached No. 3 on Billboards Album charts. And finally the show ended with the Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year and Artist of the Year, Zach Williams with Old Church Choir.
