Believe or Be Afraid but not Both

On Rise and Shine we were talking about fear. We've all experienced it on one level or the other. But is it against what God wants for us? Yes. In Mark 5:36 "Jesus told him, "Don't be afraid; just believe!

In Romans 8 it says "I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow -- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love."

So, if those scriptures are true then if we believe what we are told in scripture that nothing can separate us from God's love not even the power of hell..

If we believe God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling - Psalm 46.

If we truly believe these promises of God's and Jesus then fear has no place with us. But it's important for us to see that we not only can believe in God...but we have to BELIEVE GOD. You can see that is a big difference.

When we BELIEVE GOD we know that His promises will hold against the fears that are trying to move into our heart and head to keep us from knowing what God can and will do for us.

Besides...remember, Matthew 6:26..."Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? NOPE!

But by giving up your time to fear you can lose time that you could use being at peace in the arms of a God who has promised to protect you.
