I’ve been away for a couple of weeks…and I wanted to say I am very glad to get to be back . First, I want to thank Rachel for hanging in there and keeping Rise and Shine going while I was gone.
I am going to be honest with you, I was in the hospital for a week … I am facing a Medical Mountain in the next months…and I could really use your prayers. While that medical mountain is a concern… in Matthew 17:20 Jesus addresses those mountains in our life… a relationship mountain, a career mountain, a parental mountain…or a medical one - Jesus says, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there” and it will move, Nothing will be impossible for you."
Matthew, Mark and Luke all talk about the faith to move that mountain. So, it's a very important statement by Jesus...and I am working on that Faith….this mountain will move.
But, I know that I've never had enough faith to move mountains in my life. Because as much as I want to believe that I BELIEVE what I read in scripture, when it comes to the foot of a big mountain...I've not had a mustard seed of faith to excavate that mountain.
Several years before coming to KJIC I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro. For days I climbed but was still not at the top of the highest Mountain in Africa. But I kept climbing because I believed I could climb it. Did I believe I could move it? No. Yet Matthew 17:20 says nothing is impossible for us if we can find that tiny seed's worth of Faith . I admit it would have been a shame to miss the beauty of that climb, but to move the mountain sure would have been easier..
I have a big mountain ahead, and I know I'm going to have to either climb it or MOVE it to conquer it. I would love to have prayers for my finding that faith to just Move it out of my life.
