Daily Challenges

Life is full of challenges, isn’t it? From the moment we open our eyes, we’re faced with decisions, responsibilities, and sometimes unexpected curveballs. Whether it’s juggling work and family, dealing with difficult people, or just trying to get through the day without losing your cool — we’ve all been there.
But here’s the good news: we don’t have to do it alone. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” That’s not just a motivational quote — it’s a promise. No matter what comes our way, God’s strength is enough to carry us through.
Today, we’re going to talk about those daily life challenges we all face and how God’s strength helps us navigate them. So, let’s dig in.
Let’s be honest — some days feel like a marathon, and we haven’t even had breakfast yet. From morning routines to endless to-do lists, life can get overwhelming. But even in the midst of the chaos, God gives us the strength to handle each moment.
The weight of daily responsibilities can become overwhelming from the moment we get our feet on the ground, and our mornings can set the tone for the whole day. So, we need to remember that God’s strength is available right from the moment we open our eyes. It is a good habit to start our day with a quick prayer, even if it’s just, “God, help me today.”
What this does is put our focus on God first, and then everything else comes second.
How do you usually start your mornings, and how could you invite God into that space?
Balancing Work, Family, and Life
Juggling multiple responsibilities is exhausting, but we’re not meant to do it alone.
I am often so thankful that my husband is with me as we do life together. The struggles we face in this life can feel like they are pulling us and keeping us down, but knowing that we have others in this life to help us through can lighten that load. Most importantly, we need to hold on to the fact that God offers wisdom and strength in the moments we feel stretched thin.
Take five minutes to pause and breathe when things feel overwhelming. Taking a deep breath and getting some peace can help strengthen us.
What’s one area in your life where you could rely more on God’s strength?
Dealing with Unexpected Interruptions
Life loves to throw surprises our way — some good, some not-so-good.
I don’t know if you are like me, but there are times when unexpected interruptions don’t affect me, but then there are other times when the smallest change can completely throw me off and change my attitude. When that happens, sometimes I’m able to catch myself, and other times it’s too late, and I’ve let my feelings really show. When we learn that the unexpected things can be for our good, we can more easily adjust.
Trusting that God is in control helps us stay calm and grounded.
When interruptions happen, pause and ask God, “What are You teaching me in this moment?”
How do you usually respond to interruptions, and how might leaning on God change that response?
It’s not just the to-do lists that wear us down — it’s the emotional stuff too. Whether it’s dealing with difficult people, managing our own emotions, or just trying to stay positive, these challenges can feel heavy. But God’s strength is enough to carry us through those moments.
We all face conversations that we’d rather avoid, but God can give us the right words and the right heart.
There are so many videos out there where we see employees, managers, and owners dealing with difficult people, and they can go either way. But I am always most impressed by the ones who keep their cool the entire time. This shows great wisdom, and we need that in order to approach difficult conversations with grace and patience.
Pray before hard conversations and ask God to give you calmness and wisdom.
Is there a conversation you’ve been avoiding that you need God’s help with?
One time, I was running late, spilled my coffee, and then someone cut me off in traffic. When I got to work, I realized I couldn’t open the office because I left my keys at home. Let’s just say… my reaction wasn’t exactly a good one. But in that moment, God reminded me to breathe and let it go. So, I drove the 45 minutes back home, then the 45 minutes back to work, and let God really work on my heart and reset my mind for the day.
God gives us strength to handle emotional triggers with grace. It is important for us to learn what triggers us so that we are better able to use the tools that God gives us. We need to trust God to help us through this life in every moment.
How do you handle moments when emotions run high?
Overcoming Spiritual and Internal Battles is another big challenge.
The hardest battles aren’t always the ones we can see — sometimes they’re the ones inside us. The doubts, the fears, the feeling that we’re not enough. But Philippians 4:13 reminds us that we can do everything through Christ. That means every battle, big or small, can be faced with His strength.
Fear loses its power when we lean on God’s promises.
Memorize Philippians 4:13 and repeat it when doubt creeps in: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
What’s one fear you need to surrender to God?
Living in God’s Strength Daily
God’s strength isn’t just for the big challenges — it’s for the everyday moments.
This means that we need to be intentional in our daily walk with the Lord and rely on Him and trust in Him continuously through every moment.
Start your day thanking the Lord and asking for guidance, and then end each day with a prayer of gratitude, thanking God for His strength.
How can you invite God into your daily routine?
Life will always have its challenges — that’s a guarantee. But the beautiful truth is that we don’t face them alone. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that we can do everything through Christ, who gives us strength. Whether it’s the morning rush, a difficult conversation, or an unexpected curveball — God is right there, offering His strength to help us through.
So, as you step into today, take a deep breath and remember you are not alone. Lean into God’s strength, trust His promises, and keep pressing forward. You’re stronger than you think — because you’ve got the strongest One walking beside you.
