Fall is here....September has flow by and here come all the Holidays.
Genesis 1:14 – Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years.”
Changing colors…. Maybe not so much here but I know it is beautiful.
Pumpkin everything…. Pumpkin flavors can be found everywhere in Autumn, particularly in traditional favorites like pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread, and in more modern treats like pumpkin-spiced teas and coffees. I don't like pumpkin anything but the rest of my family does so I have made and bought pumpkin pie.
Fall Festivals…. We go to these instead of other traditional October stuff because we love them and it’s something we get to do as a family.
Delicious Desserts…. Autumn is one of the best times of year for sweets. Caramel apples, taffies, and candies can be found in abundance, as well as pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie…basically any kind of pie your heart may desire. If you’re indulging in pumpkin pie this Autumn, don’t forget the whipped cream!
Cooler weather…. well in most parts it is probably already at least in the 70's and the leaves are or have been changing but here in South Houston we are still waiting for the cooler weather. But it will come soon enough.
Better fashion…. Sweaters, boots, jackets....Sure and there is some cute stuff but for me I will just add a jacket or hoodie to my wardrobe and let it be that.
Firepits…. If you’re lucky enough to have a firepit on your property, or know someone who does, this is the ideal time of year to use it! And we do and we use it....some anyway. I usually can't wait for the first fire. I just love it. The smell, sitting around it and just watching the flames. It's relaxing.
Arts and crafts are something that seem to happen. My daughter cut out leaf's and colored a fall sign to hang in her room. Kids at the schools bring hope fall decorations that they made. A lot of people carve pumpkins, but we want them to last longer before decomposing so we paint ours. My kids love it and can’t wait to do it every year. It's a fun tradition.
The Holidays they are upon us! This season change is the start of the Holiday season, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years…we all love these and knowing that Fall is here means these are here too…the stores think so too…. they started setting up Fall décor in July. Christmas stuff is out now too. Crazy how it all goes up so early
Fall means something to everyone and we all have out own stories that follow. As the season for celebration starts make memories... remember the ones you have already made and just take it all in.
