I don’t know about you, but some mornings, I feel like I’m drowning in bad news. It’s everywhere — the headlines, social media, even the checkout line at the grocery store. But today? Today, we’re flipping the script. We’re focusing on good news, stories that make you smile, fill your heart, and remind you that God is still moving in the world.
Our main scripture for today is Proverbs 25:25, and it says, “Good news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty.”
Don’t you love that? I mean, have you ever been parched on a hot Texas day and taken that first sip of ice-cold water? Instant refreshment. That’s what good news does for the soul.
Let’s dive into some heartwarming stories that’ll remind you there’s still plenty of good in this world.
You know, it’s easy to get caught up in all the negativity swirling around, but if you look closely, there are good stories happening every single day. People helping people, communities coming together, and unexpected blessings showing up right when they’re needed most. It’s like a treasure hunt for the soul — you just have to be willing to dig a little.
Like this one: There is a teenage boy in Houston who started mowing lawns for elderly neighbors who couldn’t do it themselves — and it turned into a whole volunteer movement!
Small acts of kindness like this one can ripple out and inspire others.
Everyday heroes aren’t looking for praise — they just see a need and step up.
Look for one small way you can help someone today.
Do you know someone who has been a quiet hero? Encourage them today.
I read a story of a nonprofit in Maine paying $1.8 million in medical debt for 1,500 people. This was done because this nonprofit saw a need in low-income households, and they knew the struggle these people were having, so they decided to turn back the clock and pay all their medical debt.
What an amazing act of kindness.
God often uses people to answer prayers in unexpected ways.
Even the smallest blessing can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
Surprise someone with an unexpected blessing — a coffee, a kind note, or even just a smile.
When was the last time you experienced an unexpected blessing?
A lost dog traveled over 200 miles to reunite with its family after being missing for weeks. This dog was from Savannah, Georgia, and was found in Daytona Beach, Florida. The dog was found because it was put up for adoption, and someone saw the post and made the connection.
Stories like this remind us that hope is never lost. It reminds us that God works even in the little details of our lives. So, we need to take time to notice and soak up the moments God gives us.
Spread the joy! Share a good news story with someone today.
We’re not just meant to hear the good news; we’re called to share it. Whether it’s the Good News of Jesus or just a heartwarming story, spreading positivity is part of our purpose. And let me tell you, I’ve had my fair share of ‘good news moments’ that turned my day around.
Good news has the power to lift spirits and change perspectives.
Sharing stories of hope reminds others that God is still at work. This is why we share our testimonies because they share the goodness of God in our lives.
Next time you hear good news, don’t keep it to yourself — pass it along.
Who in your life could use some encouragement today?
Have you heard stories where people pray for an exact amount of money, then go and look in their mailbox and see an anonymous envelope showing up with exactly what was needed? I have, and it sounds so amazing because of the faith that they had in knowing that God would provide.
God knows our needs and works through others to meet them.
When has God surprised you with an unexpected blessing?
You can be a bearer of good news every day — through words, actions, and attitude.
Even a small gesture of kindness can be a bright light in someone’s dark day.
I read a story about a 10-year-old who has become a paramedic and taught a class of adults how to do lifesaving procedures. They call him the mini medic. He has been interested in paramedics since he was 2, and now, he uses his passion to help others.
Our main scripture for today is Proverbs 25:25, and it says, “Good news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty.”
Make it a habit to show kindness to someone daily. It doesn’t have to be big. Remember, small gestures make big impacts as well.
What’s one way that comes to mind where you can bring a little light into someone’s life today?
The best part about good news is that it doesn’t just stop with the person who receives it. It spreads. One kind act sparks another. One story of hope ignites more faith. And before you know it, you’re not just hearing good news — you’re living it.
Good news is always there if we choose to see it.
God gives us the ability to shift our focus from fear to faith.
Start each morning with a prayer for eyes to see the good.
What helps you stay focused on the good?
Have you seen videos where a teacher started a fun way to get involved and welcome the kids into their class? There is a list of ways to interact with the kids, and they get to choose — will it be a high five, a hug, a fun handshake, or whatever? With this, it brings comfort and connections. It also starts the kids' day off positively.
One person’s actions can create a ripple effect of positivity.
How can your actions create ripples of kindness?
Living out the Good News means embodying kindness, love, and grace.
God calls us to be light in the darkness. He calls us to share and give kindness, love, and grace in each encounter we have with others.
The story of the Good Samaritan in the Bible also shares this kind of love and mercy. The man walked by, saw a stranger who had been beaten, picked him up, took him to the nearest town, and paid for his care as he healed.
End each day by reflecting on one good thing that happened — no matter how small. Thank God for that good thing and then make it a habit to end each day thanking the Lord for all He has done.
Shine God’s light today.
You know, when the world feels heavy, sometimes the best thing we can do is look for the good — and even better, be the good. Proverbs 25:25 says, ‘Good news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty.’ Friends, the world is thirsty. Let’s be the ones bringing refreshing stories, uplifting words, and hearts full of kindness.
I hope today has reminded you that there’s still plenty of good news out there — and that you are part of it.
