I am the Clay

Make, Build, and Grow a new life in Christ.

Isaiah 64:8 says, And yet, O Lord you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We are all formed by your hand.

God is forming us like a potter does with clay, as we walk day to day with Him.

This week my daughter and I made homemade pasta dough. It's easy and we like doing it but we always see to have issues with the flour mote having a break and the liquids all coming out. When the liquid flows out it gets everywhere and you can panic a little. But luckily the dough is a little forgiving and you can always add more water.

Luke 6:47 - I will show you what it's like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it.

This scripture is like a recipe...you have to open the recipe book, read it and understand what to do and then follow it.

We must follow what is laid out by God to walk the path He has for us.

Another way of looking at our walk with the Lord is in building a structure. With a house at least you would first need a plan, a blueprint even to know where to start and what is needed to build this house.

Firstly, you will need to start with a good solid foundation so that when a storm comes it won't wash away your foundation. We need a solid foundation when walking with the Lord and when we are saved and have faith in God, He becomes our solid rock, our firm foundation.

Luke 6:48 - It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.

When struggles in life come, because of our frim foundation in Christ, we will make it through stand strong.

Once we have a recipe to follow and a firm foundation to stand on we can then being to work on growing roots and diving deep into what all God has for us.

Like gardening you must cultivate the soil to get it to be fertile and that will allow growth.

In our walk with God we do this by going to the Bible.

A good story in the Bible to demonstrate what I mean is in Matthew 13:3-8....in this parable Jesus is telling of a farmer who scatters seed amongst different kinds of ground and the see that did the best were the ones who landed on the fertile soil.

Go read the whole chapter to better understand the whole story it is a good reminder of how we should be the fertile soil and that when we apply the Word of God we will produce good fruit.

To wrap up...we need recipes to follow to make good food, we need blueprints and plans to build houses, and we need fertile soil to grow and produce good fruit. All of which are provided by God and in reading His Word...The Bible. We need these things in our daily walk with the Lord so that we can in all; follow His lead, have Him as our foundation, and be able to be fruitful in His kingdom.

Let the guidance of God and His Word help mold you into a new life in Christ.
