Kindness

Be kind to each other - there are many ways to be kind to others – helping someone, listening, praying for, etc. This is could probably go on for a bit because we all have our ways of thinking when it comes to helping one another. What comes to mind first for me may not be what comes to mind first for you.

One way I like to show kindness may not always be seen and that is by praying for others.

1Thessalonians 1:2-3 says, “We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We don’t know all the things going on in someone’s life and with some we might but regardless one thing that we can do for everyone is pray for them. We can pray that the Lord would meet their needs. We can pray that they have strength through what ever that are walking through, and we can pray for God to heal what needs to be healed. One of the best things we can do for someone is pray for them.

We can tell someone we will pray for then and I think we should actually do just that. Let's not get caught up in life and forget what we said we would do.

Ephesians 4:32 says, “Instead be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Wow…. That’s one way to show kindness…forgiving.

Definitely easier said than done but through prayer and understanding we can come to forgive someone for what has been done.

We have all had times where someone has said or done something to us, and we were sure that we would never forgive them. That may be true…but as a follower of Christ I will forgive but that doesn’t mean I need to forget and act as if nothing happened especially if that person shows no remorse or change. The same goes for when we have done the wrong to others.

It brings a peace and a calm spirit when we forgive someone. God wants this, he doesn’t want us to hold on to things and grudges. But to forgive one another.

Forgiving shows that we love and Christ loves and it helps others to see Christ in us. If we are going to say we are Christians then we need to live that out in full.

God is loving and compassionate, and we are made in His image. Most believe in a higher power and want to do good things.

I thought of the good Samaritan in this. You can find this story in Luke 10:30-37.

Many who could have helped passed him by. But it says in the Bible that a Samaritan came by saw him and helped.

Luke 10:33 says, “Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him.”

He didn’t care what anyone thought he saw someone in need and when and helped.

When someone’s in need and you have the capacity to meet that need, then we need to step forward in kindness and help.
