Letting God

I saw a meme and it says to a mom – Sometimes it’s best just to be quiet and let God show them.

This is to a mom and as a mom I understand what it means but I can also see this being used for everyone that you are watching go through things in life. But really this is about letting God take the lead. They must learn to turn to Him.

One night my husband and I were playing scrabble with my daughter, and she was having trouble finding a word to play. I looked at her letters and immediately saw a word and it was very similar to the word she wanted to play but couldn’t figure out where to play it. But she didn’t see it and I wanted to help her, I wanted to show her…If I helped, she would get a good amount of points. But my husband told me I couldn’t help her, that she needed to figure it out on her own.

If that is not a good representation of letting them be and let them figure it out or letting God show them then I don’t know what is.

1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Helping someone when they need it is servanthood and we are to help when we see it but there are times when we can’t help. I was walking through a difficult time a few years back and I reached out to a friend who knew the situation and probably could help but she told me that, "I can’t help you"…That was hard to hear because we want others to help when we need it so we reach out for that. But she does live hours away and I so understood that, proximity wise that was not do able but that is not what she meant. It took me about a month or so to realize that she meant only God could help me.

We must walk through things alone sometimes and turn to God as it would be the only way to make it through.

Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

The main reason why we can’t let God take lead the is because of the fear and uncertainty that comes with that. Trust in God is you to letting God have everything. We can pray, Lord, I give this to you but once we start worrying or feel anxious about it again, we have taken it from him and let fear take over.

Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Letting God have it all and give peace is hard, but it is the only way.

Other things we hold on to can be things from the past. When doing that we are holding ourselves back. When we focus on what is behind instead of what of ahead, we can miss what God has for us. We haven’t let God have it all and lead us through it all.

Proverbs 4:25-27 Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

Trust is what is needed to really allow God to have it all. Peace once we do that is what it given. I surrender all is a great song. The first verse is declaring that we will surrender all –

"All to Jesus I surrender All to Him I freely give I will ever love and trust Him In His presence daily live."

Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.

Letting God.... Let go of fear, worry & doubt. Let go of burdens. Take your worries, cares, and burdens to the Throne of God. Put all your burdens in His able hands and leave them there. Find rest in the peace, love and presence of God, our loving and caring Father. Let God…that’s all we must do. Trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
