The Ultimate Guarantee

You know those commercials that promise a ‘money-back guarantee’ or ‘100% satisfaction’? They sound great—until you try to actually use them! But there’s one guarantee that never fails: God’s promises. So, let’s talk about the only guarantee we can truly count on!
Our scripture for today is 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT) — "For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ (which means ‘Yes’) ascends to God for His glory."
Only God’s guarantee never fails.
Commercial Hype vs. Reality
Have you ever bought something that came with a ‘lifetime guarantee,’ only to find out the fine print made it almost impossible to claim? That’s the thing with earthly guarantees—they have limits. But God’s guarantees? They’re forever! Let’s dive in.
I have bought so many things and been asked if I want a warranty or a guarantee in case something happens. Most of the time, I say no, depending on what it is, because I’m pretty sure the things we buy will last right up until that guarantee or warranty runs out… or at least that’s what it feels like. Life is full of promises that don’t hold up. But God? His Word is solid and dependable.
God’s Promises Are Reliable
We can see this over and over when we read the stories of the Bible. Abraham and Sarah had a child after years of waiting because God said they would.
Zechariah became mute until his wife, Elizabeth, had a child and they named him John, just as God promised.
2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us all of God’s promises are ‘Yes’ in Christ. That means if He says it, it’s happening!
Have you experienced this? What’s a promise from God that’s been real in your life?
Has there been a time when a worldly guarantee let you down? Maybe a warranty didn’t cover what you thought it would? Let’s compare that to the reliability of God’s promises.
Worldly guarantees are often temporary and fallible, while the promises of God are eternal and reliable, offering a sure foundation for faith and hope.
Worldly guarantees are often based on human capabilities or circumstances, which are subject to change and failure.
Godly promises are:
Rooted in God's character, which is unchanging and trustworthy.
Extending to every aspect of life, offering hope and assurance in all circumstances.
Guaranteed to be fulfilled, as God is faithful to His Word.
Trusting God’s Guarantees
We’re digging deeper into what it means to truly trust God’s guarantees. Have you ever had to take a leap of faith, trusting that God would come through?
I remember a time when I was nervous about stepping into something new.
Oftentimes, I’m nervous or even skeptical about things, and I have learned to lean on God’s promise in Proverbs 3:5-6, which says:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."
And you know what? He showed up.
The Difference Between Faith and Fine Print
Worldly guarantees have loopholes. God’s Word doesn’t. He doesn’t back out, change His mind, or require a bunch of paperwork.
Have you ever prayed, “God, I will… if You do this or that”? We are basically praying a human, worldly guarantee to God. He knows us, and He knows our hearts, so it’s not like He’s going to fall for it. But if we come to Him and truly desire what He has for us, He will help us through and give us the guidance and wisdom we are seeking.
Unexpected Provision
Have you ever prayed for provision, and God answered in an unexpected way? Have you ever received the provision but didn’t recognize it at first? Sometimes, His ‘Yes’ looks different than we expect.
I remember after high school, I went to a youth conference, and it was amazing. It was there that I rededicated my life to Christ, and from that point on, I was trying to figure out what was next for me. I had just graduated high school and had no plans at all. About a month later, I ended up enrolling in Bible college in Oklahoma. Though I had never planned to go to college, this was the unexpected "Yes" I got from God. That was the best decision I could have made at that time because that was the beginning of change for me. God showed me that He was with me through everything in life.
Whatever you’re facing, trust that God’s got it covered. His guarantee isn’t temporary; it’s eternal.
Living Daily with Confidence in God’s Promises
Can you imagine Noah? He made a boat, which no one had ever seen or heard of before, because rain—something no one had ever seen before—was coming, and it was going to flood. The constant ridicule he received was astounding, but he just continued to trust God and know that what God says is true.
Good thing he did, because it all happened, and those who didn’t trust God paid for their unbelief, while Noah and his family lived.
It’s not always easy to trust in what we can’t see. But just because we don’t have a ‘receipt’ for God’s promises doesn’t mean they’re not real.
The Ultimate Guarantee
Jesus gave us the ultimate guarantee—eternal life through Him. That’s better than any ‘30-day risk-free trial’ the world can offer. This is a lifetime reward at the end of our journey here on earth.
Even simple things, like the sunrise, are proof that God is consistent. There are so many things that happen in our day-to-day lives where we can find God being faithful. How about making it to work safely or being able to buy that cup of coffee you’re drinking? Small things, but God provides all we have and all we are able to have.
What little signs of His faithfulness have you seen today?
Whatever you’re waiting on, trust that God’s guarantee is real. No expiration date, no hidden fees—just His faithful promise to you.
Remember that His timing is perfect and that He knows what is best so that all will be for our good and His glory.
If you need some proof, get into God’s Word and read about all His promises and provisions. Know that if He did it then, He will do it now because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Remember: The world’s guarantees will always have fine print, but God’s never do. Trust Him, lean on His promises, and walk in confidence.
God is so faithful, and He loves His children. With that love, He will provide all He can.
