There is a time for many things but one thing I have noticed is that there is always time for joy and happiness. We choose these from moment to moment, and it will really help us through our day when we focus on joy.
Proverbs 17:22 says, A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.
There is truth in that. We have all heard that laughter is good medicine...absolutely! We should focus on the joys in life.
However, sometimes we can really let things get to us and it affects so much who we are and our day. A lot of the time what affects us are the insignificant things that knock us off kilter.
My husband and I had something come up yesterday evening and we could have taken that circumstance and seen in a way that could have really upset us and question, why, OR we could have taken it in stride and been thankful for what we do have.
I decided to be thankful, and to pray and thank God for providing what we do have and then also acknowledging the He knows our need...which He does.
James 1:2 says, Dear brothers and sisters, when trouble of any kind comes your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
Most of us do not see bad things happening to us in a good light but sometimes those bad things bring good to light.
So, when we allow ourselves to see the joy beyond the circumstance, I believe we will start to see things differently, with a new perspective.
