Today Is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day 😪

Written by on December 7, 2018

“Yesterday, December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy. The United States was suddenly & deliberately attacked, by naval and air forces, of the Empire of Japan.”

Then President Franklin, D. Roosevelt said those words to congress on December 8, and asked to declare a state of war against Japan. Therefore, the U.S. was then apart of WWII. Today marks 77 years since that day over 2,400 soldiers lost their lives and over 1,400 injured. The Pacific fleet was crippled with 5 of the 8 Battleships inoperative, and Pearl Harbor destroyed.

Today will be the first service that no living survivors of the Battleship Arizona will attend due to health concerns. Their are only 5 left, all in their 90’s.
